Just sharing my sad story. I bought the Tour, so I decided I should sell my Bold (sadly....because I actually still like my Bold better...but too late now) to make some extra money. I did a handheld wipe--all seemed well. Then, I was getting ready to clean it up when I remembered that I still had a memory card in it. I had forgotten that the memory slot is in the side and you don't need to remove the cover or the battery as with previous phones I've had, so needless to say I removed the cover and battery before I realized (duh!) it's on the side. I pull it out, proceed to put the battery back in and cover back on and......nothing. The phone is completely black and I have a red light that blinks 4 times, then pauses, then 4 times again over and over. I panic and start to google, I read about and attempt this JL_Cmder thing, but to no avail. My Bold is dead and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do. I tried installing a new OS w/ installer and it took (install successful) but it's still dead. There goes the $$ I would've made, and my old friend. Maybe my Bold didn't want a new owner!!!!!!

It's just that when I went to restore it wouldn't let me because it wasn't recognizing the device, but if you time it just right and plug it in while the red lights are blinking it will recognize it for a second and you can hit the button to start then.

Can you compare between the Bold and the Tour? I'm thinking of switching but not sure.

Well, BOLD is a GSM device. TOUR is a CDMA device.
Bold is slighty bigger I believe, TOUR is more along the form factor of the 8900 I think.
And thats about all I know.

Go to the blackberry website and compare features.

I miss the Bold ONLY because of it's look, but of course the Tour is practically the same thing software/os wise with a few new improvements. Newer is always better in my book. Both phones are absolutely great. I only switched to Verizon for the Tour because AT&T has really gone downhill in my area.
