Exclamation AppWorld App a performance killer?

Please Login to Remove!

After having AppWorld on my BB Bold, I noticed it would slow down quickly over time while browsing until it hanged my Bold on an hourglass. Often I would have to give my BB the 3-finger salute to reboot it out of a hang.

I removed the AppWorld application from my BB Bold and performance is now good and stable, battery life has improved, and I experience no more hangs.

Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know if RIM is working the issue?

Thanks,
Rob

Appworld is a performance killer, but when your done using it, make sure it isn't running the background, also make sure you have the latest version of app world.

due to how much it has to load, it can easily eat about 20mb of memory for about 10 minutes use.
i deleted it, as i dont use it that often and i didnt see the point.

I would delete app world, but I like see its top 25 list. Maybe there should be a thread that states the top 25 and is updated everyday.

Wirelessly posted

I really don't notice too much of a difference on my curve. I do however always completely shut it down after I use it.

With you all the way. Why it is an app and not web based is beyond me

I only open it when I need it...which, to be honest, isn't that much. I may remove it...

Thanks, everyone. I always closed it, but it still seemed to eat away at performance anyway. Things are much better since I deleted it.

I'm with you on this one also.

It should be like Mobihand or something.

I completely agree. Got rid of app world and am much happier with the mobihand store.
