HI, have set up wifi on the Blackberry. When I am at home I'd rather connect to wifi rather than use my 3g connection. I notice when I select Wifi auto connect it still priority connects to my 3g network?

I notice there is also a manual setting't for wifi but doesntsay how to manually turn on and off?

Are you saying you're seeing a connection to your home network and the 3G network?

Does the Wi-Fi icon turn white? If it does your Blackberry data will flow via Wi-Fi. The cell phone radio (3G) will stay on unless you turn it off.

...and if you turn off 3G you won't receive any phone calls, etc. So just like 'hrbuckley' said, once your device detects a network in the saved WiFi list, it will automatically connect (if you have it set on automatic) and the device will use your home network instead of 3G.

The bold automatically connects to the faster connection, either your wifi is not connected properly (the icon has to be white for it to work properly) or 3G is faster than the wifi at your house which usually isn't.
