Default Car charger for bold?

Please Login to Remove!

I want to buy a car charger for a bold, but I have one that fits the bold but it is not for blackberry. Do I have to buy a car charger strictly for the bold or would one works that fits the bold but for a different phone?

The only way to find out it to try the one you have in your car. If it doesn't show it's charging, then it won't work. Therefore, if it doesn't work I suggest getting an authentic one from Blackberry or save some money and go to your local AT&T Store and get there branded one...which is what I use.

You're lucky on that. But once you upgrade to either the Pearl or Curve the Motorola charger will NOT work because I've already tried it.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Motorola works just fine on my curve and 8100!

And I took the old Motorola mini USB car charger and put the Motorola mini to micro USB adapter on it and it works fine on the 8100, 8220 and 8900. No compatibility issues at all.

I've used the TomTom GPS charger for both my curve 8310 and my bold without issue.

It should fit fine. Like stated above though it would be best to actually have the phone and the charger in your car and try it out for your self.

This is a very good point I have the Garmin Nuvi and the more I think about I think this would work perfect for my 9000 bold even though I already have a car charger for it I bet this would work. Thanks alot man I am going to try this out then.

Well the Motorola charger I was trying to use was from a Nextel and a Razor. So maybe those particular ones don't work.

I can tell you now it will work. I also have a Garmin Nuvi and used it while I was in Mexico for two months because I didn't have a regular car charger for the Curve 8330 (Sprint) I had. But now I use one I got from the AT&T Store when I bought the Bold.

NOTE: But everyone should be aware that every car charger is direct power and can damage the battery if used more than 20-30 minutes; unlike the home charger is a trickle charger and will stop charging after it notices the battery is fully charged, but will just keep it charged.
