does anyone know if the bold has settings for sms to change the size of the reply box to look like the curve or 8900? trying to see the whole convo when replying without having to scroll down. has big space between.

No, not that I know of. The way you can change the Font is in Options> Screen/Keyboard> Font Size...but I'm sure you already found where that is; and the lowest it will go is size 7. I ran a search using Blackberry App World and there was no Apps to change the Font and search Google and found nothing. However, there's talk about v5.0 coming out either in September or October and RIM added lower Font sizes in there. I tried the beta version and saw it goes as low as size 5.

thanks been researching it for a cpl days for a customer who called in. its just bugging him having to scroll down. i will let him know.

No problem, just keep in mind and inform the customer that v5.0 is only a beta right now and when installing it, he/she may lose some features along with it causing problems with the device. Some people are already experiencing problems with the version. Therefore, it's recommend that people just wait for RIM to release the full version, that way it will be 100% functional.

When replying to a text message normally the thread of messages is one after another while the bb os moves the original messages down as you add replies. On the new bold there is a large space by default that takes up the whole screen which makes you scroll all the way down to see the original thread.

Not sure what you mean, but try this anyways: messages > options > general options > change display message hear on to 1 line.

I think he is referring to txt messages. And you can increase the size of the "history" options sms text - preference to display # of previous items up to around 50.

Or are you all talking about 5.0?

There are some 3rd party apps iirc which thread.

Or maybe I think he's referring to how pre os 4.5:
the message header contained 2 txt based lines only. Not cool graphics or contact photos.
