Just got a new 9000 and entered in my contacts only to find that phone is faulty and won't synch. How can I get my contacts off the phone either into outlook. As copying onto SIM is painful and won't fit them all on

What happens when you try to sync? Do you get an error message?

Return the faulty one and have it exchanged for one that is not faulty. Then you'll have to re-enter your contacts.

There is an error message that comes up with I try and synch. In talking to Optus they have informed me that the key pin is registering against another mobile phone which is why it won't synch. I have just spent the last week uploading all my contacts manually onto the phone as the previous blackberry's jack stopped working and I haven't been able to synch it either into the computer for the last month, so everything is out of date.

The PIN is unique to that particular BlackBerry. It won't show up as "another phone". Is this PIN registered to another BlackBerry account? Shouldn't happen if it's truly a new device, but if it was used it could have been registered by the original owner, even if he never used it. In that case the only thing is to get that original owner to get it removed from the account to which it was first registered.

Brand new phone, which I purchased, apparently they are now calling it faulty and I have to return it. This doesn't help me given that I have spent a week entering all my contacts into the phone manually as I was having trouble synching it. Now need to know if I can't connect the phone to the computer is there another way of getting the contacts off the phone onto another device so that I can then re-enter them
