I get hundreds, if not thousands of emails a day. I use webmail primarily and have dozens of filters set up so everything goes in the right place. The filters only get applied on login or when the inbox is refreshed in a browser. Therefore on my Blackberry I get thousands of mails I don't want or need to see.

I don't really understand it as sometimes it appears to resync itself with the mailbox. Like this morning I just looked and it has 65 messages and most of the stuff that gets filtered in the mailbox is not there. In the 12 hours I didn't look at it I probably received 300 mails to the mailbox. Hmmm.....

I did some Google searching and there are some references to setting up filters in a BIS but I don't have any BIS and even if I did I'm sure I wouldn't be able to understand it (I'm in Japan on a Japanese network (DoCoMo). I don't have BES either.

I did some searching and didn't find anything applicable so I know I must be doing something very wrong.



Is there another solution? It's driving me nuts.

Once you are logged in there, you can create filters based on a number of different criteria so that those emails are not forwarded to your device.

Edit, if you have a BlackBerry data plan, you do have BIS -- BlackBerry Internet Service

How are you getting emails on your device if you don't have BIS or BES?

Shows how much I know.

Are those things noted in the BlackBerry somewhere?

Ignore me, it's actually written under the login screen where to find it. heh.

When I load docomo.blackberry.com in the browser on the Blackberry it just gives me my email settings. So I hit edit on my existing mailbox and there's nothing new in here. Nothing about filters.

On the screen that shows all your email accounts, on the far right side of the screen, you should have these icons for each account, Edit, Filters, Delete

try doing in on a PC, not your BB browser.
