And why every time I plug it via USB, the time on the clock changed. It shows the time one hr later and up in the top left corner , it shows the right time?
1. Go to options > memory > media card support-on, encryption mode- none, mass storage mode support-on, auto enable mass storage mode when connected-yes.
2. Try a battery pull to solve the issue.

Um... no.
I didn't think so.
Well with respect to the time, I figured that one out. When I open desktop manager and click synchronize, there was an option there that said synchronize device date and time. I unchecked that and the "problem" is gone.
Wasn't really a PROBLEM , but more of a nuisance. Posted fix so if anyone else encounters this "problem"
However, phone still does not show up as a USB device....
Do you have a media card in the device? Is the device password protected? When you connect it to your PC, what does it show on the device?

Its a problem with your media card because you say that it still connects without the card. Try putting in a different card to see if that fixes the issue.

No it is supposed to connect to DM regardless of whether there is a media card in or not. That fact that it connects without the media card, means there is problem with the card. Reformat the card in the computer and put it back in the bold and try connecting. If that doesn't work, reformat the card in the bold, then try connecting. Last but not least, reformat the card in the pc, remove the card, update to the latest os, and then put it back in the bold.
