Default Email Problem

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone. I am having problems with my BOLD.

I seem to have issues trying to get my emails to come through. If I put my sim in my other BB (curve) they come throught straight away without entering my pin or IMEI numbers.

Email icons are on the phone and I can send emails without a problem.

I did hear that it was something to do with deleting the service books in a certain order before requesting for new books.

Can anyone enighten me to what the problem is please.

Thanks

John

Sounds like you might need to switch your device on the BIS website. Then send the service books down to the Bold.

Try resending the service books on the bold.

Log into your BIS site.

Change the PIN and IMEI to the new device.

Resend service books.

Log out.

With the device on, pull the battery for about 30 seconds, then reinsert and let it reboot.

Did the service books arrive?

Strange. The PIN identifies the device to RIM so they know where to send the mail. If your new device PIN is in BIS, then mail should not be received on the other.

One other option is to have the carrier delete and then reactivate the Bold and send the appropriate service books.

This device isn't on BES by any chance is it?

Its actually on o2 uk dubdub.

The weird thing is now that if i email myself or my work email from my BB then it will ping back to my phone without a problem.

Its just when it comes to someone else emailing me that the problems start to occur.

Are you positive that you changed the device correctly. If so, try this:
1. Go to options > advanced options > service books. Then delete all service books related to emails (should end in [cmime]).
2. Options > advanced options > host routing table > menu button > register now.
3. Log on to your BIS site and resend the service books.
4. In your MESSAGES folder (not email), there should be two messages, one saying that it registered to the network and the other saying that the service books were sent (don't remember the exact message).
5. With the device on, take out the battery for 30 seconds and put it back in and wait 30 minutes.
6. After 30 minutes, you should be getting emails sent to your device.

Ok I have done that. no messages came through.
I have entered the correct IMEI number and pin number and get the message that the changes have been sucessful.
The weird thing is if I email myself from my BB then it will come through as an email, and if one of my suppliers email me that also comes direct to me. Its just any other email from anyone.

Does this baffle everyone else apart from me?

This is rather strange. Try reinstalling or upgrading to the latest os.
