Hi guys, my first post here. I see a lot of people seem to have the same problem as me. I leave my bold in a desktop charger overnight, but this morning when i took it out i saw a message about "unhandled exception" did not see the whole message because the bold froze. No matter what i tried it would not power up, so i took out the battery and left it for about 15 mins. Nothing, no lights, no boot up, tried connecting it to my p.c but it is not recognized as being connected. I have sen a few options on here about re-installing the software but see o way of doing it when it won't connect to the PC. i have a replacement coming from my provider, but was wondering how prevalent this issue is.

could possibly have to do with your battery. I have heard that leaving your battery out for 24-48 hours will fix the problem. I have no idea why, but it fixes it.

Have you checked the water damage indicators near the battery compartment?

Well it seems the magic "leave it for 12 hours" remedy worked.

Just got my replacement unit from Rogers, and went to look at the "old" one, put the battery back in, and it booted up like nothing had happened. Just asked me to confirm the date and time. So i have now backed up everything, and i am wondering

1) Do i keep the old one with my apps,
2) Keep the new one and transfer everything over to it.

Decisions, decisions.

Hope BB come up with a fix for this though...... looking on here and other places seems to be a fault with the otherwise amazing Bold

Yep, the replacement was a referb unit, no case or anything other than phone, battery and return labels

Hmm... thats a tough one. I would just keep your bold because it is now fixed so you do not have to go through the trouble of transfering everything. But if you want you could just switch batteries.
