Default Hotmail

1) When I receive an email on my Hotmail account, it seems there is a long time lag when it arrives on my B-Bold compared to my other Windows based phone. Why is this?

2) When I delete Hotmail emails from my B-Bold, thet don't seem to get deleted on the server. When I have read Hotmail emails from my B-Bold, they don't seem to be showing as read on the server. Why is this?

Thanks.

1. BIS polling interval for Hotmail accounts is typically 15 minutes. Perhaps your Windows-based phone polls more frequently than that?

2. Do you have Wireless Reconciliation enabled for your Hotmail account? See here for detailed instructions:

According to this KB article, it should be possible to do what you're looking to do:
KB05133 - Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service - Port3101.org : Your BES Connection

Thanks for the information.

What does this mean:
a) In the Delete On field, click Prompt, Mailbox & Handheld, or Handheld as desired
b) In the On Conflicts field, click either Mailbox Wins or Handheld Wins

Cheers.

Prompt will ask whether you want to delete just from the blackberry or from the server and blackberry
mailbox & handheld = delete on both BB and server
handheld = delete on BB only

Im not entirly sure what the conflict would be, but mailbox wins means it does whan the server says, handheld wins means it does what the BB says.

When using the "mailbox & handheld" option, the emails from the server now get deleted when I delete them from the handset. But, those that have been read on the handset still appear as 'unread' on the Hotmail server. Any clues as to why?

Cheers.
