When at home and the kids on the cpu I would like to use my wifi. If I leave it on will it drain my battery fast and when I leave and comeback will it auto connect to the wifi?

Draining the wifi shouldn't drain the battery that fast unless of course you have a bunch of apps running in the background and you have bluetooth and 3g enabled at the same time. In order to ensure the longest possible battery, put the bold to 2g only and disable bluetooth, also make sure that apps are not running the background. I believe there is an option where you can set it to auto connect to the wifi.
