Default Upgrade: where are the memos, where is my game?

I will not be angry….I will not be angry…..

Why I am posting here:
ATT Customer service pushed me to Blackberry technical support, which requires a special account otherwise you have to "have your credit card ready" This is unbelievable to me, that I cant talk to a human who knows what to do here….so someone suggested the smart folks this forum.

What is the problem:
The other day my blackberry desktop software told me I need to upgrade. SO a backup was made (thank god), and I let it do its thing….I was upgraded to (i saw the sticky thread about it.)

Now, I immediately discovered my ability to ADD a simple memo using the simple memo program is no longer there? WTF? This is a standard program I am sure many business users use. Where did it go? WORSE, all my previous memos are no longer available to me, which contained important info. They now reside in a backup file only (hopefully).

Second, the only game I play, Texas Hold em, was now replaced with games I have to buy and would never use anyway. I want my poker game back!

Can someone please tell me 1) how to see my memos, 2) how to get my game back, or 3) just go back to the old system, but I don’t know which one that was? The phone is only 2 months old.

First off I AM NON TECHNICAL. SO please answer in non jargon terms please!

In desktop manager, when upgrading, you likely either uncheck MEMOPAD and the TEXAS game, or they were for some reason not checked.
Go through the "upgrade" process again, but instead of clicking UPDATE click ADD/REMOVE.
get to the list of apps on your phone, go down and make sure the correct things are checked.
