Default Buying a Bold-- SIM Question - 10-20-2009, 04:18 PM

Hi Everyone.

I am about to buy a Bold. I am with AT&T.

Do I have to use the new SIM card that will come with the new device, or can I use my existing SIM? I would rather use my existing SIM and give my current device to my wife who does not have a data plan.

Basically, I want to take the SIM out of my current device, put it in the Bold, then take the SIM out of my wifes phone and put it in my current device. My understanding is that if I activate the new card, AT&T will fry the existing card.

Thanks for your Help. Hope this was not too confusing.

the only problem i envisage is that its the new SIM account that will have the BB data plan attached to it...

I have a enterprise data plan already on the card that will go in the blackberry, could this still be an issue?
