| Modem Configuration when Tethering HELP!!!! Please Login to Remove! I've searched for the answer to this question for some time now and haven't gotten an answer yet so I thought I would as you guys!
I'm tether my bold to my laptop using USB.
It works great, but I have some questions.
I'm on Rogers which is 3G, 3.5G, and now HSPA+ (21Mbps) in some areas!
I know that the Bold is HSPA capable as it has the HSPA+ frequencies of 850/1900/2100.
Most people have been saying that the Bold's 3G is limited to 3.6Mbps... fine!
Anyways, my REAL question is when I'm tethering, the max I get is about 0.9Mbps which is no where close to 3.6Mbps.
I have a feeling that it has to do with the settings on my laptop.
For example, when I go in to 'Configure Modem', the maximum modem speed I can set is 921.6Kbps!
When I first set up my configuration using the Blackberry Fact.com Sticky, It doesn't actually say to change the modem speed. My default was set to 1,200Kbps and when I did a speed test, it was limited to that!
NO WHERE can I find people talking about the Modem Configuration speeds and it's limits.
I want to know what I can do to change this so I can set it to "Maximum" or something like that, so I'm not limited to 921.6Kbps!
Does everyone else who tethers not have this issue or question????
Can ANYONE help??? |
