Default Silent Profile

Please Login to Remove!

So I have a custom ringtone set for one of my friends. The thing is, I have my phone on silent but when he texts, I still hear the song. Calls and other texts are silent.

On his contact info under Custom Ring Tones/Alerts -> Messages, I have the volume set to 10, the count and play sound set to active profile. Active profile being silent, I'm not supposed to hear anything right? Wrong. I still hear his song.

He is the only person I have a custom ringtone for on my phone. But I'm pretty sure if I had more, the result will be the same.

I have already tried pulling the battery. Can anyone assist please. It's very annoying in the workplace.

You are going to have to play with this one. I think you created the custom tune using an *exception* so you have granted it an over-ride. You have a to create a specific except in the silent profile to make them silent. Does that make sense? Play with it and let us know how it goes.

Yes. It makes sense. But how do I create a specific exception in the silent profile?

I have even tried making a custom profile but his tone still overrides the settings...

I was able to figure it out. I thought I could of set custom volume for the message tone but apparently, I could not. So it was just a matter of changing all the options under his contact to "Active Profile".

Thanks.
