Default bold no longer registers as connected

Hello fellow bb lovers.

I have the bold - obviously. I was trying to update the OS and somewhere along the way the process stops and I get a message telling me the phone is no longer connected.

I now cannot get it to connect to my computer. It never registers. When I plug it in via USB I get the clock for a second or so then it goes back to my home screen and doesn't even show that it is charging.

I did a back up last week sometime and could restore to that but I am not sure I will have a connection via USB to do that with. It does charge via wall charger.

Any suggestions?

I did search - but maybe I didn't know the magic terms to look for.

I wiped it out of frustration and now have a brand new phone that still won't connect via USB to my computer.

try a different USB port, cable, or even a different PC to try and isolate the problem.

After a reboot of the computer and removal from the docking station - it appears to be working.
