Hi, i'm not sure if this is the right section, just wondering if you guys could help me out.

My friend had his blackberry bold in the same room as his shower about 3 months ago and some of the steam has got into the phone and damaged it. He just took off his insurance too! He is quite lazy and I don't think he really cares about it anymore so he gave it to me to see what i could do.

Basically the rollerball click doesn't work anymore and some of the keys do the wrong function e.g the power button presses 'Ouo' :S

I'm completely new to blackberrys and would like to repair this one - I've been reading up on it and it looks like replacing the keypad PCB might do it some good? Is this right?



NB: It was damaged about 3 months ago so i dont think putting it in a bag of rice would help much now!

I would recommend that you take it into a shop to get them to assess it and tell you whether or not it can be fixed.

If it is fried by water, then it is most likely dead. I would follow the suggestion above and see what can be done.
