BB Desktop manager checked for and downloaded an update (without the app even running) and I was prompted to upgrade to 5.0.1 BB Desktop manager.

When I ran the app it prompted me to update my BB core apps to 4.6.xx.. I am currently running 4.6.0.297 (Platform 4.0.0.247).. Which I though was the latest official AT&T release.

What version would they update me to? Any help would be great.

Desktop Manager 5 Service Pack 1 from RIM was released earlier this week.

You can allow the automatic update on your PC, or download the file from here:

Ok, this may be a stupid question... But if update to this, does it update my Bold to OS 5.0 as well? If so, I'm guessing I can't use the OS .303 from 4.6 anymore right?

Or does this only update the DM? Thanks!

No this is not a phone OS update, this is an update for the Desktop Manager. This will not affect your phone OS.
