Are you trying to get the internet from blackberry to laptop, or wi-fi from laptop to blackberry?

because the blackberry doesn't do that.
You can connect your Blackberry to the internet using wi-fi; you can use the data carrier network of a blackberry to connect your laptop to the internet.
But you can't channel an internet connection to your blackberry from your laptop.

How are you trying to connect them?

Blackberry doesn't support ad-hoc wi-fi connections. It will only connect to an access point. I suppose if you had software that turned your laptop into an access point (not even sure that would be possible with all hardware installed in laptops) you may get it to work.
