Default How many apps can I fit? - 11-05-2009, 10:11 AM

I just got a 9000 - I've loaded about 5 apps on my phone and when attempting to add the 6th I got a warning about having less than 5 megs on the phone. Where can I see where the memory is going? Is there still no way to put apps on the SD card?

Wirelessly posted (My name is Bubbles)

No unfortunately you cannot install applications to the memory card. What do you have installed? Sometimes a battery pull will free up quite a bit of memory so you might try that. Also themes take up space as well.

It says Device Memory:
Total: 859mb
Free: 851mb

What's the difference between device memory and app memory?

device memory is for storing pictures, videos etc.
app memory is where the Os and apps are stored.
also emails and SMS's etc.

Delete any SMS's in and out, emails in and out, that you dont need.
make sure you close out of an app correctly, not by hitting the end call button.

What os are you running? If you are running .167, update now to at least .297. Also, make sure those apps are closed and not running in the background. Also, do you have bbm 5.0 because that is known to take up a lot of memory.

What do you mean?
Did um, did Caesar live here?
Um... no.
I didn't think so.
