Please Login to Remove!

hey!

well, i had my old device sent away, for Os compatibility reasons, and got the new device yesterday.

now, i can't download OTA the google gmail app... for some reason, i got a message via ota link that the google mail doesn't support the 9000 (and i know that's not true, since i used the google mail app with the bold before), and that i can only use the internet version...

any idead?

Wirelessly posted (RIM BlackBerry 8300 Curve)

Try downloading the "Google Mobile App" and seeing if that works (the Google Mobile App allows you to select which Google applications you want to install on your device, and keeps them updated)...

Access this address using your device's "Browser"
http://mobile.google.com

You can also try downloading the GMail client on it's own:
http://www.google.com/mail and click the "Get faster GMail" link at the top...

Australians need to go to http://www.google.com.au/mail and click the "Get faster GMail" link at the top.

Set up your APN. For some strange reason i can't get any of the google apps OTA either but with the APN details in place it's google love all the way.

Setup your APN details and hit Google Mobile with your internet browser and try to get the app from the link on the page. (check that your emulation is "Blackberry" in your browser options)

Let us know how it goes

You wouldn't believe it but that BlackBerryFAQ linkie on the top of the page can be handy.

There you go: What are the TCP and APN settings? - BlackBerryFAQ

If you're unable to locate your carrier's APN details (either in the FAQ or searching online) you can always give them a call on their support line number and ask them directly.
