Default got the most weirdest problem ever...HELP! - 11-15-2009, 02:43 PM

So anyways.. i just got a bold from the states at&T i unlocked it and everything... everything works except i can't send out calls!.. i can send/recieve txt msgs... and recieve calls.... I get this weird error SIM toolkit error... sim: Call barred... its not the sim.. i tried that... i also tried installing newer software... then the phone would be able to send out calls but would screw up after a few calls or so and error would come back... I just wanna know is there a way where i can just completely get rid of everything and reset too factory settings and install new software or something. I just want to fix this error....

Nothing at all to do with how the phone was unlocked. It's a weird problem with newer unlocked AT&T blackberries being used on the Rogers network. The only simple solution I've seem work for some other people is getting an old Rogers 3040 sim card. Call around other Rogers stores and see if there are any in stock and try it before you buy it. I had the same problem as you, but I fixed it myself at no cost. The solution was quite technical and there is a risk, but PM if you want the answer and the steps to follow.
