Default Help.....Cant get into my phone

Please Login to Remove!

My phone has a pin number to get access to it. Today i was forced to do a battery pull because the phone locked up for some unexplained reason. When the phone restarted it went to the pin number screen as normal. However now when i enter the pin the phone is not recognizing the code. The keyboard appears to be playing up. When i press the number 1 for example, i can see to stars appear on the password screen, as if ive pressed the button twice. Also even rolling the trackball makes a star appear. I've tried 5 times to get in and i have only 5 more attempts remaining.

The phone itself appears to be working. Email alerts are still happening and ive even missed two incoming calls.

Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

That kind of behavior is classic indication of moisture. Any chance of that? Even foggy locker room, sweaty pocket... It doesn't necessarily take a liquid spill

Or a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower or bath.

Locker room. Bang on. Is there a fix?

Post an update when you get a chance, let us know if drying it out was the answer.

I will report back and let you know the result. I had a similar thing happen with my last bold and had to replace the handset. I didnt associate moisture with being the cause of the problem last time around.

Sad to report the phone is now a write off. Drying out had no effect.

Its a real hassle, because my UK carrier hasnt got the new bold 9700 for release yet. So if i get a replacement I'm going to be missing out on the newer handset.
