Default How to save SMS messages after software upgrade?

Please Login to Remove!

I currently have 5.0.0.314 but I wanna upgrade to 5.0.0.411 jus to see how it feels. So my question is how can I save my SMS messages so that I don't lose them when I upgrade to .411! Any Suggestions?

I know I can back up my device to BB Desktop Manager, but I jus wanna save my SMS messages, nothing else...since I copied all my phone Contacts to SIM card.

I have Google Sync application, will that do the job? Anyone know?

you could try mIQ Free mobile phone contact, photo, video and text message backup :: mIQ. It will back everything up and if you have it set to sync all day, it will automatically backup any photos-videos-text you have. I think it was a bit of a battery killer to leave on all day, so I wish it had a scheduling feature, but you can manually sync if you want too.

Skydeck is not free anymore, now it's like 10 bucks per month for its service, kinda lame...

When you backup your blackberry your text messages are backed up too I believe. Also, I have never lost sms messages doing software upgrades, so you shouldn't lose them.

mIQ is free and will back up your texts (among other things!) and they'll still be saved on the web even if you clear them from your phone.

It'll only start syncing SMS once it's up and running though, unfortunately can't pull past ones.

Right now BlackBerry doesn't support the types of developer APIs that we need in order for us to access the old text messages on your phone.

Try it out, let us know what you think!
