Windows Media Audio only up to WMA 10?

I know, I know, I checked the specs on the Bold, stands at WMA 9 and WMA 10. But dude! It is only the decoder version.
My Bold will not recognize files made with Windows Media Player 12; I am going to try Media Monkey to remake the wma files.
Why WMA and not stick with MP3? With good earphones, and full orchestra compositions, lossles WMA sounds better than MP3.

WinAmp 5.5572 Pro will produce WMA 9.2 lossless, which should play just fine on the Bold.
