I recently bought a 9000 from a friend of a friend. Not always the best idea.
The os is 5.0.0.100 pltf 4.3.0.20

The phone seems to have trouble charging, because whenever it is plugged in, it looks normal for a minute or two, and then fades to a bright white screen. Then shuts off, and restarts itself. It will do this for hours.

I figured it was the os, so i tried to downgrade to what the desktop manager recommended which was something in the 4.0.0 range.

It works fine plugged into my laptop, but when i hit "downgrade" to change the os to the recommended lower version, it shuts itself off halfway through, and turns back on again.

I do think its the software thats the problem, because it wont let me download apps, or view certain webpages properly either. Does anyone had this happen, or know how it could be fixed? Its not so fun.

Finally got the software to update, or downgrade whatever you want to call it, but it hasnt helped anything. still is turning off and on, and ive figured out there is no email setup either. :(

Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan? If not, no e-mail setup icon...

Not just data - a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Yeah i do have blackberry data, but now m phone just wont turn on, so email isnt a worry hahah
