Default confirm delete

Please Login to Remove!

All of a sudden, my confirm delete in general message options, which has alway been set to "no," is now effectively set to "yes." I tried changing it to yes, saving the change and changing it back to no. I tried a battery pull. Nothing. It still wants me to confirm delete. Anyone fingered this out before?

edit: Got it. under options- reconcilliation- delete on I changed it from prompt to handheld. Still nothing. Then I set on conflicts to Handheld Wins. That seems to have it sorted for now. BIS issues?

edit2: Feck. It's back to confirm delete. Must be mad at me for thinking about getting a 9700.

Is the device on a BES?

You should try another battery pull. Do it with the power on. And this time wait a good minute or two.

But if the device is on a BES and this is being forced by IT policy, then of course you'll need to talk to the IT people.

I didn't see your edits before I posted. So, you had it fixed momentarily, but now it's stuck on confirm delete again?

Yes. I got one delete without a confirm. Right after I made the change to handheld wins. Only effects email. calls and sms go away without a confirm. I'm not on a BES.

Do another battery pull and wait a few minutes.

I've seen where first battery pull doesn't work, but second or third, or longer does.

There is only one other thing I can think of if the battery pull doesn't work, and that is to clear the messages database, but I expect you don't want to do that. (EDIT: On second thought, clearing the database is probably a dumb idea for this problem. Sounds like the messages delete; just the setting for confirm cannot be changed. Doesn't strike me as a database issue.)

Tried a longer pull. No change. Now I'm scared to ride the Italian motorcycle today.

Don't reload the OS; at least that isn't necesarry for that particular problem. See the FAQ. I think either of the following:

And if you still have trouble, try deleting the acount in BIS, delete the service books for that email address, then re-add the email account to BIS.

Sorted! I was having trouble doing back-ups to the PC. The process seemed to hang on the browser cache. So I deleted cache components one by one. Deleting "pushed content" fixed the back-up issue. On a whim I went back and set/reset the confirm delete and prompt settings for the emails and now I can delete without confirmation again. Spurious or related I know not. Something to ponder though.
