Question Will 9700 firmware work on 9000

Please Login to Remove!

Hello

Again new to the type of device & was wondering would the firmware for a 9700 work on a 9000?

Why 9700 firmware?

Possibly it has to be newer & better if it will work.

The device I have was on Orange UK, but has since been Unlocked.

Been to the Blackberry site for software & it seems to vary dependant upon carrier.

na.blackberry.com eng support downloads download_sites.jsp

I wanted to debrand the device so no logo carrier logo appeared on start up & thought possibly using an update from say the UK 'carphone warehouse' may do it & also put the device at a new higher level of firmware?

Just an idea...

Any advice would be welcome, thanks

Simple answer: No. You can't put firmware for one version on another.

Nope. Firmware is device specific as NJ said above.

If you're just looking for the latest, greatest software to load on your 9000, I'd highly recommend you head over to Driphter.com and look at the Willyboy Hybrids. They are about as new and shiny as you can get. I am a VIP over there and currently have access to Willyboy 9K v7, but the public v6.4 is real nice as well.

Good luck!
