Default Battery pull, now battery with X through it in startup?

Any idea what this is? I'm running a version of 5.xxx on my 9000 and since using this version, haven't been able to use quickpull. No biggie as it handles memory better, but tried to do a battery pull this morning and as soon as I put the battery back in, it puts a battery symbol with an X through it on the screen (where the bb logo usually is), the progress bar stops a little past half way and I have the phone plugged into a charger. I have 2 batteries, both identical, however, one may be a knockoff. I'm not sure which I have in it now and the other is at home. Is it just detecting a non-oem battery or is this battery toast?

UPDATE...Ran home at lunch and grabbed the spare battery, popped it in (had the phone plugged in since the battery may have been dead). OS loads like normal, I get the ATT splash, goes through security screen and then white screen. So I think it may be the battery that's dead, so I leave it alone for a little while. Pull the battery, and everythings fine until I get my first call. Lasts about 3 minutes, and is plugged in the whole time. I go to hang up and nothing, the screen is completely dark. Battery Pull. Starts up and then straight to white screen. Any ideas? I'm running 5.0.0.681, and am thinking of changing OS, could this help? Call Att and throw the phone back at them(i just got a warranty replacement a month ago, so I should be able to)?

IC Flash? I've done a complete reinstall of the same build and so far so good, hopefully I won't do a battery pull
