Default Installing New OS, no bb software

Hello,

I have a laptop that has no previous desktop software for blackberries installed on it. I'm wondering if I can still do the OS upgrade (pinned at the top) without needing the disc.

(yes i know my model says 9700, but i'm doing this for a 9000 user)

No, you will need "Desktop Manager" first in order to load the handheld software to the BlackBerry. Desktop Manager can be downloaded from Smartphones, Cell Phones & Smart Phones at BlackBerry.com
