Why stick with 5.0? What are the advantages? I dislike the lower starting memory, the new keyboard lock and probably something else I can't recall at the moment.

For the 9000 your choices are 4.6 that it shipped with or 5.0. Won't run OS 6.

Are you using a lot of apps? Store ringtones, music and photos on the device rather than the SD?

I never had a memory issue with my 9000. Was a very solid device.

So far I am not sold on 5 on the 9000. Yes, I love the new features of 5, threaded sms, a bit better browser, improved photo sharing, folder notifications etc. BUT, the lack of a stable release that has no major bugs in basic functionality is a deal killer. I have yet to have a fully working device since I upgraded to 5...

If your device works as you want and need, there is no real need to fix what isn't broken, IMHO.

That's the issue for me. I have slightly improved battery and significantly less memory leak with 5.0 (1385 pack). The rest of it was better on 4.6. Threaded SMS is nice for wiping an entire innapropriate conversation with a single keypress, but there must be something else 5 is good for besides taking up a lot more room.

If you have to ask, and you were happy with the older version, you've answered your own question.

There are probably other things, but off the top of my head, the better browser is the best feature of 5.0 versus the 4.5 I was using before.

Reboot time has been dramatically reduced. The stock themes have dual layouts.

I just updated to 5 myself... not liking the new keyboard lock. Before, I had lock assigned to the left convenience button to imitate the 9700's KL on the top. I didn't mind having to press * phone to unlock it again. At least I could see the time and/or new messages by pressing any key and not disturbing the bb.

But now, I have to press the mute button on the top which by itself isn't the easiest to press. Plus with the case I have, I really have to dig in with the tip of my finger. I'm probably whining because I just updated and it's all new, but still.

I am not clear. You are using a 9000?

Seems like my mute button is wearing out after just a week on 5.0.
