Default Removing "Activation Required" in Bold 9650

Please Login to Remove!

Good day!

Would like to seek assistance on an issue with my Bold 9650. I received the unit unlocked from Sprint USA however when i loaded my Non-US GSM card (from the Philippines) it shows "Activation Required" in the home screen. We have tried several options like trying to change the CDMA service edit screen via ##000000 or ##111111 but unfortunately to no avail.

Would there be any possible workaround on having this fixed?

Appreciate your two cents on this!

If those 2 solutions don't work, then call your carrier.

Dial # # 000000 (Send)

Dial # # 111111 (Send)

For a Sprint device you need the MSL code to program it, which will remove the 'activation required' message. The MSL is unique to each device, and I believe you can only get it if the device was, at one time, activated (and have to get it from Sprint, not any 3rd party).

If you purchased directly from Sprint, they *might* be able to tell you what the code is for it.

Since we don't really have a 9650 Bold forum (only 9000 Bold or 9600 Tour) this is good enough.

The 9600 series forum is for 9600 series devices, the 9650 is a 9600 series device, and all other 9650 posts, including latest Os are in that forum.

A GSM sim will not work in a CDMA phone as far as I know. Please correct me if wrong.

The 9630/9650 are hybrid devices that are both CDMA and GSM-enabled (SIM card) devices....
