Hello all

I have a blackberry bold 9000 version 4.6.0.282, plate-forme 4.0.0.235.

When i open Blackberry Desktop and search for an update, it say that there is with version 5.0.0

But when i start to install it, it stop at: Connecting to Boot Rom.

Each time I get to the "Connecting to boot rom portion", the phone restarts, and my computer goes hunting for a driver, but never finds the driver, thus the upgrade fails.

What can i do this fix this please?

Are you following our instructions in the yellow sticky at the top of the 9000 section?

Yes i did follow the process:

But still unable to update.

Still stuck at the ROM part.

I also tried this also: Latest OS: 9000 5.0.0.1682/5.0.0.1036 (Multilanguage)

But same result.

Wipe it with Jl_cmdr and then reload the OS.

Also install BBSAK (BB Swiss Army Knife - use Google to find it) and see if that will work.

if i Wipe it with Jl_cmdr, is it gona delete everything on my blackberry?

Yep. But so does an OS upgrade. If you don't have a backup, its too late now anyway, since you already started the process.

i did start the process and i did a backup also. So when it failed, it just put back the version i had with my settings.

So the device is working? From your post, I assumed that it was not.

I never recommend an OS upgrade for the heck of it anyway. If the device does what you want it to do and has not real problems, then it isn't broken and does not need to be fixed with an OS upgrade.

And the 9000 wasn't really designed for OS 5.

And kindly update your profile to show the device model number (9000) not he name (Bold). There are several different Bolds out and about.

Well my problem is that when i want to configure my connection to my WI FI, i don't have WPA2.

But on Blackberry web page, they say that we can set it with WPA2 personal.

What can i do in that case?

i have tried every steps from he help section a couple of times yesterday with no results.
