updating to os6 help

Hi all, I wonder if someone could help, I'm trying to install os6 on my pearl 9105, but is having trouble. I have followed most online help, but the apploader is not finding the installed os6 that i have on my computer, all it is showing is the apps. And I have deleted the vendor file as well. Any help would be appreciated.

There may be more than one copy of Vendor.xml on your C: drive.
Search the hard drive and delete all copies.

I used to have OS5 on my computer but I had problems on my computer and a friend cleaned and rebooted it .
