Question Problem using hotspot browser

Please Login to Remove!

I recently got a Blackberry Curve 9300 and one of the main reasons I switched to BB is so that I can get emails and surf the web using Wi-Fi, so I opted out of the data plan. I don't know if this is affecting my problem or not, I don't think it should.

My problem is that although I am successfully connected to the Wi-Fi, at home and school, when I try to access the hotspot browser (not the web2go one) this message pops up:

"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.

If the problem persists please contact your service provider."

Any help would be much appreciated!

My experience has been that without a data plan, the Blackberry doesn't have much in terms of functionality...at least as far as the internet etc. goes. The cell providers make it difficult to do much without a data plan. Check out this FAQ for more details on what you can and can't do. Wish I had better news :(
