Default track pad works in some screens and not others

Please Login to Remove!

so the other day i was using my phone and it was rainin so water got into it.
i started getting that jvm 545 error but i resolved that by using app loader.
now the only issue i am having is with my track pad.
its strange cuz on my home screen it functions fine, i can move up down left and write. i can select the apps on my home screen as well.
but in main menu i cant move at all. but i know its not frozen cuz whatever app is being high lighted i can select it.
but its not just my main menu that the track pad aint responding but in other screens as well such as my sound profiles, any screens that i use to make changes to certain aspects of my phone for example the screen and keyboard settings.
does anyone know what is goin on and if this is fixable or am i stuck with this problem?

I had the exact same problem. I took my battery and micro SD card out for like 10 seconds and put them back in and it fixed the problem. If it doesnt work for you I also found out that if you hold the "Alt" or "Shift" button it will let you move around on your menues. Just a temporary fix so you can at least use your phone lol

What is your current OS Version? You could try reinstalling and/or updating the OS to see if that'll fix it.

I had a 9000 at the time and I got sick of the constant loading clock image, it kept popping up every once in a while even though I only had Google Maps installed and none of the IM clients except BBM.

So I sold it and bought a BB 9300 coz I loved the size, and the keyboard, I also had an 8520 in the past which served me well so....

The moment I opend the box at home and started playing with it, I noitce that the trackpad was not to my liking, no where as smooth as my previous 8520. So I thought maybe it had some sticker on it that is making it so unresponsive, but nada! There was no sticker!

I tried cleaning it (imagine that! a brand new phonegiving me so much trouble), but no help!
So I posed the problem on a forum and people told me that is a known hardware defect in the 9300.

The trackpad would work only if I place a cloth over it! how convenient?! :(

My hands are not swetty at all, plus, the 8520 and my friend's 9700 trackpad always works perfect, no need for your hand to be super dry or anything!

I took it back to the shop and they gave me a full refund on the spot without any questions asked!

Now that is not normal here in Dubai for giving a refund so easily, but the store keeper so the problem and couldn't utter a word.

The trackpad worked once, and wouldn't work most of the time, it would like scroll right, but not up and down, or the opposite.

I am not saying that all 9300s are bad. It is just that some of them (many) had this faulty trackpad.

Eitherway, take it back and have the trackpad replaced or the phone all together!
