Have you tried the switch device wizard in Desktop Manager? I can't say whether it works with that other model or not, but worth taking a look if you haven't already. That will be your best solution if it will work.

Next best step, probably is to sync the old model with something that you can then sync with the BlackBerry. Outlook might be best, if you have it. If you use Google's products, that may be the second best solution. Others here will likely offer another alternative.

If the contact file format (in your old device) is vcf, you can save it in your 9300. But, the contacts file should be in the memory card (micro sd).
