Hi guys,

I have a curve 9300, without BIS... I was successfully using gmail and maps etc. apps with the APN for my provider vodafone India.

Then I took blackberry services for a day in order to upgrade my OS to 6.0, and then deactivated the services.

Now apps like gmail etc. cannot connect to the internet any more. It just times out... enabling APN or disabling does not seem to have any effect on its behavior... sometimes I feel that now it is configured to use blackberry services... The blackberry browser and opera browser both seem to continue to work fine...

I have tried reinstalling the app but it is not helping....

any help appreciated...

Your service books are gone. You had them before and should not have, but someone put them on your device. When you activated BIS and then cancelled, that deleted those service books. Thats what is supposed to happen. Keeping them last time was just lucky. Now you'll have to pay for BIS like everybody else.

thx rambo. Are these service books in the phone device or the SIM? Because I am damn sure the phone I bought was sealed packed.

Once you deactivated the data service, the data features are no longer going to work.

Service books are stored on the phone itself, not on the SIM card. That's why they're gone now.
