| Phone and replacement both draining power fast Please Login to Remove! I had a BlackBerry Curve for past two years that was set up to access/sync with the Outlook calendar/contacts/notes components of the enterprise network in my company. It generally worked fine. I recently bought the newest version of the Curve, which worked fine initially, but within a few weeks I began to have intermittent problems when using the internet. For example, when playing a YouTube music video that I had previously played on numerous occasions without any problems, it would suddenly stop, go black, then begin to reload, i.e., screen would show the progress bar, but just before completing the reload, it would go black again and start the cycle over, and the same cycle would repeat indefinitely until I pulled out the battery. Even after replacing the battery, it would often just go back into this same cycle, which by the way wore the battery down very rapidly. I would sometimes have to remove the battery several times and leave out for a while before it would totally reboot and begin to work again.
This problem only occurred when using the internet for something other than accessing my enterprise Outlook programs, and most of the time the problem did NOT occur while on the internet, even the sites on which the problem had previously occurred at least once. The sites on which the problem has occurred include safe ones like CNN, etc. After working with Verizon to attempt repair, it was finally decided to wipe everything off my device, which did not resolve the problem. Verizon sent me a replacement BlackBerry Curve yesterday. Other than activating and doing the auto-reload of Outlook data, I have not installed any programs/applications. Unfortunately, the problem is still occurring. Since it is still occurring with a replacement device and I also did not load any other apps, I am wondering whether there might be some type of virus in my company network or at least in the files on my computer that could be causing this strange problem. Or is something battery draining app being backed up to the server and reinstalling on my replacement phones? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. |
