i cudnt able to connect to BB Messenger even after sending PIN to my friend. It says in the status - pending (Waiting for Authorisation) . i don knw wat to do ...pls guide

When you turn the phone on and the name of the carrier appears on the top line of the screen - that is the carrier. The company you bought the phone (or at least your service from).

As asked earlier, do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan - which you need to use BBM.

Carrier means the SIM card you are using or from which Company have you brought the Device.
