Default blackberry curve 9300 batterij runs dead quickly

Please Login to Remove!

Hello there All,

Is there anyone that can tell me why my blackberry runs out of power quickly.

I have tried the following things to try to solve the problem.

new battery twice
firmware update
checked for third party applications
checked the settings if the gps was on or the backlight on etc, etc, etc
the where all off.
Tried a new charger also no succes

I tried also a new blackberry still the same problem.

The battery is charging it just runs dry withing a day while you are supposed to be able to use the blackberry between 2 and 4 days.

Can anyone please help me I also tried testing if it was the power connection but it seems to be fine.

If anyone has tips for me or some advice

See below on how to get the most out of your BlackBerry Torch!

BlackBerry’s are very customizable, giving you the ability to fit it into your lifestyle.
How to:
- On your BlackBerry Torch home screen, type “brightness”, click the options (wrench) icon, click Screen Display.
- Adjust your Backlight Brightness to 30 and your Backlight Timeout to 20 seconds
- Ensure “Automatically Dim Backlight” is selected. Click menu button, Save.

Where did you get the notion that you should get 2 to 4 days on a charge? Most of today's smartphones will give you 12 hours or less of power, but of course, it also depends on how much you use it.

Also, you should not allow a lithium battery to get below 20% on any sort of regular basis. That will damage the battery, shorten its life and also could require more frequent charges.

My advice is to keep the battery topped up when you are near a charger and read this from our FAQ: Maximum Battery Life - BlackBerryFAQ
