Unable to add new email account

My son has a problem with his 9300 in that he wants to add another email address to the one he has already in his phone! He first tried through the add email button and phone didn't do anything and then tried through options and email management! Trouble is it wouldn't let him do it and just says contact your wireless operator (Vodafone), which I have just done and all the lady said was to re register the phone, switch off and back on again, the wireless setting and lastly to take out the battery and sim card for a minute and that will cure the problem. It hasn't and wondered if you people had any other ideas as to what to do, or do I have to ring them back up again?

Re: Unable to add new email account

Sounds like you have a BlackBerry data plan on the account for that BlackBerry handset, and have successfully added one email account already.

The first troubleshooting step is a hard reset: With the power on, remove the battery for a least 30 seconds. Make sure you have good mobile signal when you put the battery back.

If the hard reset doesn't fix it, then resend service books. See How do I resend my service books? - BlackBerryFAQ.

Try using the Voda BIS site to add email accounts. I have found it works better and easier than using the phone itself.

Re: Unable to add new email account

Thanks both for your help, but nothing worked and tried for a few days, so took it into the shop, who said there was a fault with the phone, so it's gone back to Blackberry to be fixed! They tried to do a full reset (wipe the phone completely) and didn't work, so luckily I had backed everything up before we went in! Only trouble now is, my son has a cheap Samsung as a courtesy phone, so no Facebook or Twitter apps on it!

Thanks again and sorry for getting back late!

Keith
