hey all,

apologies if this is a very, very novice question... I know people like me are probably laughed at.

i received a temporary phone after my pearl took a swim. it's a 9350 Curve according to my readings. my highschool friend gave it to me and is now in the iphone world.
excited to try it out, i'm now on attempt 8/10 on the password, and the owner did not have one set and does not have a clue on guessing it...

some guesses so far:
0000
1234

I have a bunch of new messages I'm really eager to see, is there a standard password? I really don't want to delete all the data/unread messages in my last two attempts here

Don't try any more passwords or you'll lock the phone. You need to advise your carrier of the temporary phone with its specific number info so they can transfer your data package from the wet one to the replacement unit.

You won't lock the phone. If you exhaust all ten guesses (and there is no standard password, you need the password) then the phone will wipe itself out and delete all data. It won't lock anything.

This is probably the most ridiculous response I have seen in quite a while. The carrier cannot move the data from the wet device to the temp device OTA.

Also, how would you have a bunch of messages on there for you if you have never unlocked it. It sounds to me as if this phone locked for a reason and you're trying to see the contents of it. If that is in fact the case, you won't find any help here.
