The only difference is the 9500 does not have a CDMA radio installed and yes the 9530 will work on European 2100MHz 3G Networks.

Both devices will work on HSPA networks in Europe.
The 9530 has dual band CDMA, quadband GSM, and 2100MHz HSPA

thanks for the prompt reply.

I am wondering if the 9530, when used in Europe, will drain battery faster because of the additional CDMA radio

No it won't drain the battery quicker because of the extra radio. But it's my experience that HSPA does drain the battery slightly quicker than EVDO.

I wonder if this 9530 would work in Chile... they have the 9500 storm but i realized they dont offer it on 3G. prolly because of the single single HSPA 2100MHz.. the bold here is 3g but it has 850/1900and 2100MHz HSPA

Default 95-- Use as wanted - 09-19-2009, 10:46 PM

I have a 9500 on at&t in Tx, Works just fine.
I also have a friend on T-Mobile works fine We all have a 3g issue, but changes once you are out of the US! All you get is EDGE !!!!

The 9530 will also work on at&t as well as T-Mobile in the states.

I would say wait a few more month and get the Storm 2 models, pay the money and DO NOT LOCK IN ON A VENDOR CONTRACT FOR 2 or 3 YEARS....

Also, note I have one of the 1st 9500's and still using the original on at&t for a year..... I also stay up to date with both Beta and offical OS Updates!!!!

Its your choice?????

can you have a look at SanDisk 8GB microSDHC Card CLASS 2 (SDSDQ-8192, Bulk Package) in the amazon website and suggest me whether this wil suits for BB strom 9530...this 8GB card seems to be different in the back side picture and i doubt it fits the strom correctly.

Can we install the 9530 OS on the 9500. I am told that the 9530 OS are better than the 9500 ones, which have lot of issues like:
  1. Short battery life
  2. Network issues
  3. Sound is low
  4. Vibration is negligible.
  5. Touch screen issues where we cannot get the right keys at the right time.
  6. etc
