Default So is this the "Iphone Killer?"

Please Login to Remove!

I know that phrase is sooo played out, but in all seriousness, what does everyone who has gotten their think? Is it faster than the Iphone, how good is the sound/video quality? How fast can it pull up a web page?

well imo, not yet. maybe if there was an upgrade to the storm. but then wouldnt the iphone have had an upgrade by then ?

in terms of functionality. they both can do similar things, but i would stil say the iphone beats it for the internet browsing, because the scrolling, and loading is better. also zoom in and out etc. but the storm, i believe, has a better loud speaker for your music and videos. music player isnt better than the iphone though, i dont think. just the output is better quality and can be louder. Apps are dependant on the developer i guess. battery life, well i dunno about the iphone battery so i can't say. but as yet, like 007 said above me, they're two different devices, aimed for different things.

that said, i still think the storm has the better touch screen :P esp for text input.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

I am NOT looking for an iphone killer but am definitely looking for a quality product.
I suspect there will be continual competition between the two developing companies.

OS 5.0 should have a drastic improvement in the browser.

Anyone considering both devices should keep one principle in mind: the iPhone is an iPod Touch+phone (with messaging sort of added to the deal). The Storm is a Blackberry (read as: email and messaging device)with a phone(with media player/browser sort of added to the deal). So start with what root device (iPod or BB) you really want and then see if the added features work for you. It's really not that complicated IMO.

I agree, its an awesome device but it won't kill the ipoo, even as much as I wish it would.

It's going to to a major revolution in phone development or usage to kill the ipoo.

Maybe in 10 years when we have phone implants....

omg that is so true...i never thought about it like that before lol.
strictly speaking, the iphone really is aimed mainly at ipod junkies, and the usual consumers. it really is just a itouch with a calling extention added, and also sms. no mms lol or 'real' bluetooth either. oh and the camera.

whereas the storm is still business orientated, with a few added perks such as the media player and camera, etc

iphone is crap i had it for a year left att and the iphone where they belong in the dust. If your not an itunes head the phone lacks common cell tech that is needed. MMS/copy and paste to name a few. Constantly freezing and having problems with push email. Now just to be clear i have an imac and love it. I am not a fan boy of either, but to state the case when i needed a good desktop i got an imac. when i need a FULLY functional SMARTphone I get Blackberry.

If you like functionality then yes Storm is an iPhone killa .... The only thing iPhone has is a browser ... That's the only thing ..... I like to be able to multitask ... Example: having my AIM running in the background while checking my email ... With iPhone when you exit out of AIM you wont know you received a message until you physically open the application up ... Same with email .. I like having my emails arrive when they were sent to me .. Not when I have to say "Fetch Ubo Fetch ... Good Dog" ... I flip through my BlackBerry with application switcher ... When I tried the iPhone for the 8 days it lasted I couldn't find application switcher on there ... And the reason being was there is no need for it since other apps aren't running .... Typing on a storm is completely superior to iPhone ... iPhone has no copy and paste feature ... I never realized how much i copied and pasted before .. Take it away and I get twisted ... Example: a friend emailed me his home address ... I had to take a paper and pen ... Write it down and then go into contact list and enter it ...Are you CEREAL? ... Paper and pen?... That seems like a few steps backwards to me ..... How about no MMS on an iPhone ... That is the biggest joke about it ... The thing is a toy, hence all the "fun" apps for it like iDoodle, iPoop ... I don't need to draw on my BB or ask a magic 8 ball what I should eat for lunch .... But having a picture of my niece come through and brighten my day... Now that works for me ...... I've been Blackberry for years now and have tried every "like" devices and guess who keeps winning?... And by a landslide

So if you have to ask if Storm, or any BlackBerry, is an iPhone killa then you aren't using your BlackBerry to it's fullest capabilities
