Ok so try putting the phone up to your ear while you are on a call and resting it on your shoulder.... my jaw hits the speaker button!!! it is so annoying!

LOL, I was hoping that this would not happen.. While I was at the storm event I as the verizon rep about this issue of your cheek hitting the screen while on a call. His response was "Well the active touch area is half way down the screen so we hope that will prevent this from happening". I think RIM needs to lock out the touch screen while in a call, then only enable the menu and back out buttons.

Or just activate those features with a double-tap.

Or fade out the screen like the iPhone.

Really starting to wish we could see upcoming changes in the next version of the OS...

I have this same problem and IMO, this is a major issue that needs to be addressed.

Not sure if a firmware would be able to fix this as the workaround for pressing virtual keys on touchscreens have been to put a proximity sensor in the phone. Dare has one as well as the iphone. I dont see one on the spec page for the storm: BlackBerry Storm - BlackBerry Storm Details - BlackBerry Storm Specifications

I agree, almost all the calls I made with the Storm so far, I encountered that problem every single time. It is very problematic!
