Default Jumping to Unopened Messages

Please Login to Remove!

I am used to hitting "u" in a message list to move to unread messages. This still works on the full keyboard, however you have to pull up the keyboard to make this work. Not a good process.

I have figured out that by holding down the down arrow button in the message list it will take you to the oldest message (the bottom), and holding down the up arrow button in the message list will take you to the newest message (the top).

Has anyone figured out how to move between unread messages without using the keyboard.

While at it, has anyone figured out a way to show/hide the keyboard without going through the menu (which can be at the bottom of a very long menu in some cases).

Thank you for your time and insight.

I can't find a specific post on it right now, but it's been reported that if you place your finger at the top of the keyboard and swipe down towards the bottom of the phone, it will hide the keyboard. I'll still look for a post in here about it just to back that up.

The swiping works. That is great. When the keyboard is down, you start on the existing options at the bottom of the screen and swipe up (rather than swiping up in the body of the message). When the keyboard is up, you start at the top key and swipe down. I did not know that. Thank you.

Wirelessly posted (bb8320TMO)

And when typing a message swiping down sends the message.
That's correct swiping up makes the keyboard appear and swiping down makes it go away.

I was not able to send a message by swiping down. I think the fastest way to send a msg is by hitting the menu button twice. Also if you swipe down the keyboard you will have options on bottom of screen to send msg , save as draft

Another VERY helpful tip I learned: while viewing a message/email, swiping left or right will go to the previous or next message. Just like reading a book.

Right to left = next message
Left to right = previous message

Default What about Alt+u

In addition to pressing u to find each unread message I also used to use Alt+u to toggle messages from unread to read or vice versa. I can't figure out how to do this with the Storm? Anyone else figured it out yet?

thats funny on mine: right to left goes to the previous message, and left to right goes to the next message, i always felt there was something wrong with that
jfred if u highlight the message/s push the menu button and select MARK UNOPENED or vice versa, i think thats what ur looking for, but if u come across an easier way drop the knowledge.

I figured this out. The Alt key has been replaced with the !?123 key, so you press !?123 + _ (_ is what the u key becomes when you press !?123) and this will toggle the messages from read to unread.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately, mine does not toggle between read/unread when doing this.

You must be in landscape mode with full qwerty keyboard displayed. It won't work with SureType.
