During installation of the Media Sync service, from the Desktop Manager screen, I got repeated errors during the installation.

Product: BlackBerry Desktop Software 4.7 -- Error 2762.Cannot write script record. Transaction not started.

I could only hit cancel, and then could not hit any other buttons on the computer. I had no other open programs and I was running XP Home edition SP3. After hitting cancel repeatedly, the install completed, and my event viewer is now spammed with these errors. Is this something I should be re-running or updating, or is this an MSI Installer error that isn't BB related?

Maybe an uninstall of the software then download the installer from the blackberry website I found the one that came with the desktop manager software didn't work and that was my solution

The software works, is the thing. The synchronization process works without issue. Odd.

Edit: Googling led to a MSDN dev post that indicated -

"Error 2762 occurs when a deferred style custom action (deferred, rollback, or commit) is sequenced before InstallInitialize or after InstallFinalize in the execute sequence, or if it is sequenced in the install UI sequence. Deferred type custom actions need to be sequenced in the execute sequence between InstallInitialize and InstallFinalize."

are you trying to install from desktop mgr?....if so try downloading and installing from BB.com.....i was having trouble till i did a direct download

I did an Add/Remove and removed it, then reinstalled, which resolved the issue.
