Default Unsupported Format??

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

I am brand new to the Blackberry scene. I just picked up the Storm on Friday and I love it! Now, for a few questions:

1. I recorded a video on the phone, and saved it to the included 8G MiniSD memory card as "at walmart". The file shows up in the Videos list, but when I try to play, I get an error: "...is an unsupported format." What's the issue here?

2. Will the music player only support mp3, and not m4a files from iTunes? If so, what programs (on OSX Leopard) have you used to convert to mp3? I have a number of songs I have purchased through iTunes that I would like to import.

3. Is use of the VZNavigator not automatically included. There have been a few services within this app that have returned an error saying "Service Authorization Error: call .... to verify that you are provisioned to use VZNaviator"

4. There is a trailer (BabylonAD) that comes with the phone. Very high quality! Is there somewhere I can go to download other high quality trailers?

Thanks for all your help!
Chris

Why would you want trailers when you can get full length movies?

viet2100, I completely agree. Are there certain kinds of video files that will work best? Where do you get your full length videos?

Thanks

Default RE: Unsupported Format??

{1. I recorded a video on the phone, and saved it to the included 8G MiniSD memory card as "at walmart". The file shows up in the Videos list, but when I try to play, I get an error: "...is an unsupported format." What's the issue here? }

This error is normally sent as a result of the Media Card having encryption enabled. You will not be able to view these videos until the encryption is removed. This is easily done by emailing the video to yourself. The device removes the encryption automatically and you can then save it in decrypted format.

If you open your video list, highlight the video and select Menu > Properties. Chances are it has the following extension (.rem). That lets you know that it is encrypted.

Try removing encryption from your memory card. Once you're done, try recording another video and playing that video back on the device.

Menu > Options > Memory Card > Encryption Mode: None
